The Big Draw

THE BIG DRAW

The Big Draw is a month-long season of drawing events for people of all ages and abilities. Over 1000 venues will use drawing, painting and a vast range of other media to connect visitors with museum and gallery collections, urban and rural spaces – and the wider community - in new and enjoyable ways.

Big Draw Day is Saturday 9 October, but events may take place on any dates in October, or early November. You may choose to focus on school groups in the earlier part of the month, or families during half term. Big Draw events are ideal for both.

Drawing is an equally powerful (but underused) tool for adult learning. We hope to encourage more organisers to create Big Draw events for both young and older adults. Thanks to the Campaign’s role in the October 2009 Learning Revolution Festival, you can read sixteen new case studies of successful drawing projects with adults, including ‘harder to reach’ groups and isolated older people. You will find them at www.campaignfordrawing.net
