Bradford's Big Draw-In
8 October 2005
In spite of the weather Bradford's Big Draw Yorkshire launch was a great
success, drawing in over a thousand visitors! The day began with a presentation
to our Super City drawing competition winners who were delighted with their
Berol goody bags!

There was an up beat atmosphere as people of all ages put pen to paper and
tried to capture the rhythm & movements of Lloyd Thompson, the Big Draw
break dancer.

With the help of Lou Sumray, working at easels brought out the artistic talents
of even the most reluctant visitors.
|
|
A variety of work from figure drawing to mark making, as well as detailed
reproductions from the permanent collections, was produced.

The architect studio enabled families to recreate the beautiful façade of
Cartwright Hall.

Working co-operatively on a big scale joiner proved less daunting than people
imagined.

By the end of the day people proudly admired the 120 pieces that made up this
large-scale jigsaw.

Outside was damp but spirits were definitely not! Busily drawing children
followed the bumble bee around the park & made a honey comb collection of
images.
